The week before Thanksgiving, Tina and Kacey - my two oldest friends that go back to 6th grade and kindergarten respectively, threw us a shower up in Austin at our house for all our Austin friends. We had a great time and it was just the push we needed to really get the house completed. Now there are just a few minor things that need to occur before the baby comes. (I MUST thank Troy's parent's who drove up here and spent 4 days painting our bedroom on their own and putting in the beam and fan. Their handiness is only surpassed by their generosity.)
Here are my lovely hostesses Kacey and Tina
Thanks to Erin for driving up from Houston and for all the great photos. You're the best!
Troy and I looking surprisingly unfreak-like

Our lovely friend, Barrett, wrapped a storybook with a personalized wrap for baby Troyina. (Thanks for the name suggestion, but I think we will pass.)
Baby Chloe was at the shower - the image on the right is of her in her Baby Elvis Halloween costume. It has nothing to do with the shower, but I just think it is a riot.
Here is Chloe's mom, Andrea and our friend Bryan toasting Andrea's birthday at midnight.
Kacey and "Big Preggie" as Troy has started calling me. (That is the nicest nick name he has for me. and while shopping for thanksgiving dinner at the grocery store he has found a new game which is quacking behind me while I walk "like a duck." It is like Danny DeVito as The Penguin is following me everywhere I go.) Boy do I love this man.
Andrea listening to the belly talk, Steve (thanks for all your hard work too), Kacey and Jarrod.
The weekend after halloween, Victoria and I threw a shower for Kacey for her new House in Houston. (Which is adorable just like her.) Thankfully Victoria was my co-host, because at some point pregnant people just have to go to bed - even if their 2 best friends make fun of them for it.
kacey, victoria and I (yea... that is the same purple wrap shirt... so what!?!)
So the next day after the lovely bridge ladies tea, my family threw us a shower for all my uncles and aunts and cousins. My Uncle Chuck and Aunt Phyllis were gracious enough to have it at their home and all my aunts worked hard to put things together. (with some help from some cousins!) And a big thank you to my Uncle Chuck for the photos.

Here are some of my cousins who also helped out with all the work: (from left: Tiffany, Kelly, Laura)
Uncle Chuck (left) and Uncle Larry. Thanks for having the shower at your house, Uncle Chuck and thanks to Uncle Larry and Aunt Patsy and their crew for driving down from Dallas for both showers.
troy and I at the beginning of the embarrassing "all eyes on us" gift opening. We are extremely thankful for everyone's generosity. (And Aunt Phyllis gets a special vote for the hand-made blanket)
... and here is Troy looking like a freak. I figure one of him is good since I feel like a giant freak in all the photos. It is only fair, right?
This weekend we went to Houston for Shower-polooza. We had a ladies tea on Saturday afternoon thrown by "the bridge ladies" (aka all the crazy women my mom has played bridge with for over 30 years. They have been extended family for as long as I can remember and always throw the most thoughtful showers. Here are my lovely hostesses (l-r Jan, Linda (who had the shower at her new house), Pat, and big Preggie-Magee.)
The other nice treat was spending some time with (soon to be) Aunt Soazig:
and (soon to be) Uncle Todd.
Everyone was really excited to see the baby bump. We had a great time. We went out to dinner also to celebrate Soazig's 30th Birthday and Todd and Soazig's 5th anniversary. Tons of stuff to be thankful for and happy about.
