well... that was our names when we were as small as our kids are now. I have known Laura since we were born. Our Moms have been besties since second grade and we grew up vacationing every year together. I miss Laura. She is now in Dallas with her family and we are in Austin. We finally got our kids together for the first time today. It was a beautiful day with an old friend. (we are actually at a playground but of course our son's want to see the construction vehicles.)
Austin has a zoo. It is a small zoo and is made up of only rescued animals. There are lots of animals. Monkeys, lions, tigers, bears, etc. Half the zoo is made up of things you can feed which scores big with everyone. (Deer, Llamas, goats, etc.) Osby had a great time feeding everything until the Llamas and their crazy upper lip got a little frisky with his hands. They were way less aggressive than the goats, but I think the size of the Llamas added to it. Our friend Casey went with us. Osby had a great time playing tag with her. The other great thing was we arrved at feeding time so there was lots of activity with all the animals. Osby had a blast.
We got up early this morning and drove up to Inks Lake where Nanna and Poppy were camping. We spent the day out there on the playground, feeding ducks and geese and generally running around and just enjoying each other. Scott and the kids came out too so the kids had a great time together too. O did great despite the 20 minute nap in the camper. It was plenty comfortable. Osby has just figured out that if he is not outside with everyone then all fun things in the universe must be going on without him. Which of course is totally true. During the week I do laundry and bills while he is asleep. you know... super fun stuff. We went for a little hike and then tried to take some photos together. HA!!!!! That isn't happening. Osby had other ideas. We had a wonderful day and are so grateful for the first "cold front". Jeans, long sleeves and jackets, oh my!
so the coffee filter box on the head post made mimi cry. Oh mimi... you are such a good grandma (sucker! If he ever asks you to buy him a car, it is your own fault.)
So one day we are watching Elmo on our firetruck.... Yea... I know..... no TV before they are two years old. Not to mention I thought I would NEVER do that. Well screw that! my sanity is worth a friggin' episode of sesame street or yo gabba gabba here and there. This kid sleeps 45 minutes a day! I can't get anything done. If you think that sounds selfish... please keep it to yourself. I need to be ok with this. But I digress....
One day shortly after the post with the box on the head and Osby not having new toys because mom is out of work and low and behold, a package shows up at the door. Evidently Mimi has an in with Santa Clause and asked him to send Osby an early Christmas present. Since Osby's birthday is so close to Christmas, Santa Clause didn't see a problem with sending something early.
Guess what was in the box. Guess which kid was really happy.
